The Perfect 7 Days in Nicaragua
My best friend Kim and I fell into adoration of each other as twenty somethings under the fluorescent lights of small cubicles of the international department of a Milwaukee company. We giggled imitating our customers' accents and swapped stories of our boyfriends. We put our hands on the glassy world map in our office, dreaming of going somewhere. And we both did-me to Korea and Kim to Mexico. A year later we reunited in Mexico recklessly (and gloriously) hitchhiking in the mountains and dancing into the morning hours sipping icy palomas like we never skipped a beat. As thirty something moms we had grown up a little (Okay a lot) and yet, we still yearned to spend time together bonding over our shared love of travel and Spanish. By the time our epic reunion trip got underway, I was 6 1/2 months pregnant with my third baby, but that didn't stop me. I am a stubborn German you know... I was over the moon about taking Kim to Nicaragua where I had the most glorious honeymoon eight years earlier. I love Nicaragua. It's off the beaten path, it's undiscovered, it's sunshine is warm-It's people warmer. Here's our perfect 7 day itinerary: (I won't be mad if you steal it ;)!) Day 1: Arrive at the Managua Intl airport and go directly to Colonial Grenada
